Manchester United target Kevin Strootman has revealed he feels an ‘obligation’ to manager Louis van Gaal.
The pair worked together during the Netherlands’ qualification campaign for the 2014 World Cup, which saw the Oranje go unbeaten over the course of 10 games.
And, in a newly released biography of the 63-year-old coach written by Hugo Borst, Strootman has explained the depth of understanding between the two.
As quoted on the Daily Mirror website, he said:“With him looking on, whether it’s during a training session or in a packed stadium, it’s not a matter of me wanting the ball.
“No, I’ve got to have it. It is mine. It’s like an obligation I have to Van Gaal.”
