Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has revealed how Jose Mourinho convinced him to leave Barcelona.
Victory against Crystal Palace on Super Sunday would seal the Spaniard’s maiden Premier League title and the Blues’ first in five years with three games to spare.
And Cesc admits the guarantee of a set midfield role and trophies was a big influence.
“You want to play football, you want to enjoy it and he made me realise that’s what I could do here,” he told Sky Sports.
“He said to me at Barcelona I was playing number nine, sometimes on the wing and in different positions that I’m not really that good at.
“He wanted me to play in midfield, midfield and midfield and that’s it. Coming to Chelsea and playing week in, week out in the same position helped my confidence a lot and I’m really enjoying my football.”
