Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling has added a further twist to his own transfer saga by admitting that his ambition is for the Kop to come up with a song about him.
The youngster’s future has been the subject of intense speculation, with his apparent refusal to sign a new £100,000-a-week deal at Anfield not going down to well with Liverpool fans.
In an interview with the Sunday Times, Sterling admitted that the famous Liverpool fans could play a significant part in his future.
‘Last season I loved the song for Luis Suarez – Steven Gerrard and Philippe Coutinho have good ones too,’ he said.
‘My ambition is to have my own song from the Kop.
‘Of course, when the crowd is with you, there is nothing better.’
