Everton boss Roberto Martinez has admitted Everton could sell the likes of Chelsea target Ross Barkley this summer.
Barkley is rated as one of the best young talents round and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move as they look to add him to their already impressive attack.
And Martinez admitted Everton would do business if a massive offer came in for one of their big names if the cash allowed him to sign top quality replacements that strengthen his squad.
‘I don’t want to sell the dream, “Oh, we need to keep these players”, because that’s not modern football,’ he said on the Sky Sports website.
‘If you are going to lose a player as a club you need to become stronger at the end of it by investing the money well and the recruitment needs to be right.
‘I feel excited about those players coming through but that doesn’t mean we put all the future on those young players staying at the club.’
