A defining moment faces both Liverpool and Man Utd claims legend

Former Liverpool ace Steve McManaman has been speaking about the upcoming match up between his former club Man Utd and the importance of the game to both clubs.

“It’s still very early in the season but Saturday feels like a really important game for both clubs. Playing the way they do, I think it might suit Liverpool playing away from home. They will be able to hit United on the counter-attack.

“This Manchester United side aren’t the Manchester United of the past. They have their own transitional problems. Liverpool are probably facing them at the right time. On the back of their defeat to Swansea, they’re in a bit of disarray.

“They look vulnerable at the back, just like Liverpool did against West Ham. It’s got the makings of one of those games where the team who makes the least amount of mistakes wins.

“We should learn a lot more about this Liverpool side on Saturday. A lot of the top teams haven’t started particularly well. I think some of that inconsistency is down to trying to integrate a lot of new players.

“If Liverpool can win at Old Trafford people will change their opinions about what the club can achieve this season.”
