Chelsea has made a surprise entry into the list of clubs interested in signing SS Lazio winger Keita Balde.
The Senegalese midfielder is currently locked down in contract talks with the Rome-based side, but there appears to be a huge difference in what both parties want.
Balde has been outstanding since joining the team, and both the player and club are keen to continue their relationship.
The Senegalese scored 16 goals and assisted six more for teammates last season, a performance that caught the eye of several top European sides both in Italy and abroad.
AC Milan is interested in signing Balde, as they continue to add quality players to their team. Liverpool is also credited with a keen interest in the African as they look to partner him and his international team-mate Saido Mane.
But Italian media is claiming that Chelsea has joined the queue and are set to make their interest known with a £17 million bid for the player. However, that sum will not be sufficient to sign him as Lazio president, Claudio Lotito is holding out for £26 million.
