Reports in the British press today are claiming that Chelsea wants to sign Sevilla winger Vitolo.
Chelsea have been linked with an army of players this summer and at least two of them are expected to happen this week, Juventus star Alex Sandro and Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko, however, that will just be the start of what is expected to be a massive spending spree this transfer window.
The Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is said to be a long-term admirer of the 27-year-old Vitolo, who reportedly has a £35 Million release clause in his contract, a fee that the Blues can easily afford to pay.
Vitolo, full name Victor Machín Pérez, is well-experienced playing European football having won the Europa League on three occasions with Sevilla and that experience will definitely be an asset in next season’s Champions League.
Vitolo is a very versatile player, adept on both wings as well as being a useful forward, the sort of player that Conte likes.
Atletico Madrid has also been in the running to sign the player but is now out of contention following their transfer ban, which leaves the way clear for Conte to land his man.
