Liverpool have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Arsenal and England midfielder, Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain.
The Midfielder has grown frustrated by the lack of opportunities offered to him in his preferred central midfield role and wants to move to a club that would give him playing time in that role.
Jurgen Klopp is an admirer of the Englishman’s talent and wants to make him a part of his team for next season.
However, Arsene Wenger is determined to keep hold of his English players and specifically wants Chamberlain to stay. The Frenchman has previously warned the player that a move away from the Emirates could jeopardise his career.
Chamberlain, 23, has a year left on his current Arsenal deal and has not shown any desire to sign a new deal at the club. He has been very important for the Gunners recently, but with the arrival of new players this summer, it is believed that he could become less important.
Despite his contract situation, the Gunners would still ask for a fee in the region of £25 million for the English international. This fee is low enough for Liverpool to afford.
