Chelsea have been pursuing a move for Turkish defender Caner Erkin and his agent has revealed that his client has received offers from two English clubs.
Chelsea’s search for a new left-back could now see them emerge as strong contenders for his signature, with Jose Mourinho looking for a long-term replacement for Ashley Cole.
Cesar Azpilicueta has played well in the left-back position this season, though he is naturally a right-back, and the Blues have been linked with the likes of Sevilla’s Alberto Moreno and Southampton’s Luke Shaw in recent months.
Erkin’s fine displays for Fenerbahce also make him a strong contender for Mourinho,
Batur Altiparmak, Erkin’s agent, has revealed that two English sides have made offers for his client.
As quoted on the SportsDirectNews website, he said: “A few clubs have made offers for Caner, two clubs from England have made a bid and he has also received offers from Spain and Italy.
“We have received offers but have not held direct talks with any club yet, first of all we are going to listen to Fenerbahce’s offer.”
