Reports have come out and claimed Arsenal have made contact with Belgian giants Anderlecht over a deal for defender Cheikhou Kouyate
The Gunners have been strongly linked with a move for 24-year-old Kouyate for the last 18 months, with Arsene Wenger said to be a huge admirer.
And amid growing suggestions that captain Thomas Vermaelen could leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer, Arsenal appear to be moving in on Kouyate.
According to the defender’s agent, the Gunners have held talks with Anderlecht to try and thrash out a deal for one of the most sought after players around.
Saffet Balkan was quoted on the Fichajes.net website, as saying: “I have met representatives from Arsenal and West Ham over Kouyate in Belgium. We are currently in talks.”
