The agent of Gareth Bale has revealed Manchester United made a bigger offer than Real Madrid.
Bale joined Madrid for a world record £85.3m in September 2013 and repayed part of his fee by scoring the decisive goal in the Champions League final as Carlo Ancelotti’s men lifted their much coveted La Decima.
United were also prepared to smash the world record, and Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett has claimed THE Red Devils offer was much more than Madrid’s
As quoted on the Daily Star website, he said: “It was one of the greatest, if not the largest [transfers].
“And to complete it was a great honour for me because I met Gareth when he was very young and I was able to help make dream come true.
“He always wanted to play for Madrid. He could have gone to United and other clubs, but he wanted to Madrid.”
