We have been here before with Chelsea and the signs are starting to appear that Antonio Conte is losing the dressing room.
It is nowhere what it was like at the end of Jose Mourino’s second spell at Stamford Bridge but if the latest reports in the press are to be believed then it does not look good for the Premier League Champions.
According to the British press, some Chelsea players have been communicating with Conte’s former No.2 Steve Holland about their fraught relationship with the Italian coach.
Holland left the Blues in the summer to become England manager Gareth Southgate’s assistant and his presence and calming influence has clearly been missed by the players.
Chelsea’s hopes of retaining the title are starting to look slim following a string of bad results and some of the players believe Conte is responsible for injuries to N’Golo Kante, Alvaro Morata and Victor Moses because of his training methods.
In fact, the training methods employed by Conte appear to be the biggest bone of contention and it is in this area that Holland is keenly missed.
Once the rot sets in with Chelsea players it is very hard for managers to rescue the situation, just ask Andre Villas-Boas and Jose Mourinho.
