Injury has not stopped clubs from asking after the availability of Arsenal defender Gabriel, as Valencia manager, Marcelino confirms his club’s interest in the Brazilian.
The Brazilian joined Arsenal in the winter of 2015 but has struggled to make a significant impact at the Emirates. His progress has been curtailed by persistent injuries and fitness issues that have plagued his stay in England so far.
He is currently injured and may not play until the ending of September, at that time it would be hard for him to work his way up the Arsenal first team, with Per Metersacker, Laurent Koscielny, Rob Holding, and Skrodan Mustafi all ahead of him in the pecking order.
Valencia are looking for a new defender, and Marcelino claims they are also considering Gabriel. The main reason why Gabriel is been targeted by Valencia is because of his understanding of the Spanish language.
The Brazilian has struggled to learn English since he joined Arsenal, and would be glad to head back to Spain.
Arsenal has not set an asking price for Gabriel yet, but it is believed they would demand a fee upwards of £15 million for his signature.
