Despite facing a major challenge in their pursuit of Juventus hard man Leonardo Bonucci, Chelsea is still keen on signing the defender.
The Blues are one of the many teams who want to sign the Italian this summer, and Antonio Conte is refusing to take no for an answer. The Italian manager managed Bonucci during his time as coach of Juventus and has been clamouring for a reunion with the defence strong man.
Bonucci helped Juventus win the Serie A and Coppa Italia double as well as reach the Champions League final, a competition where they conceded just three goals before the final.
Manchester City and Manchester United are also keen on the defender, and Pep Guardiola has publicly praised him as the best defender in the world right now.
Bonucci had a falling out with his manager, earlier in the season, and looked to be heading for the exit door, but that situation has since been resolved and both club and player are looking to continue their relationship.
Bonucci is 30 years old and qualifies for only a one-year deal at Stamford Bridge, but Antonio Conte believes he can convince the London club’s hierarchy to offer his fellow countryman a four years contract.
