In their bid to add more goals to their game, West Ham United are reportedly set to bid for Arsenal attacker Olivier Giroud. The French man is one of the most underrated attackers in the Premier League, and on his day could turn any game on its head.
However, he struggled for game time last season and is set to be sidelined more in the coming season as the Gunners look to clinch a deal for Lyon’s attacker Alexandre Lacazette.
Giroud who has at least three years left on the current deal he signed last summer has been in talks with Olympique Lyon over a possible return to the French Ligue 1. But West Ham is ready to rival the former French champions for his signature.
According to Telegraph sports, the Hammers are prepared to offer a weekly salary that either exceeds his current £120,000 per week or marginally exceed it, while also preparing to tempt the Gunners with a £20 million pound offer.
The Hammers struggled for goals this season, with injuries taking a toll on several of their attackers, and had to rely on players like Michail Antonio for the goals they needed.
