Ahead of the new season, clubs have been adding more quantity and quality of players to their teams, but England legend Alan Shearer has warned Chelsea and Arsenal that they have not done enough.
The two London clubs have broken their transfer records this summer, but Shearer believes they need more players.
Writing in his column in the Sun, the former England forward explained that Chelsea would need luck with injuries again like last season for them to effectively challenge for any of the competitions they are going to participate in this season, per Shearer, the Blues have just about 13-14 quality players in their squad, and injuries to any of those would mean so much frustration for them.
Arsenal signed Alexandre Lacazette for a club record fee this summer, but are yet to make another significant signing. The Gunners have one of the biggest squads among the top six this season, yet many of the players like Jack Wilshere are unwanted. Wenger has so far kept his two best players Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, but if the duo doesn’t sign a new deal this summer, they might be let go before the close of the transfer window.
