Arsenal and Chelsea set to lose out to Italians in race to sign top class forward

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata will definitely be on the move this summer after being left frustrated by the lack of first team opportunities at Madrid.

The 24-year-old has been limited to just 14 starts this season after returning from Italian side Juventus with high hopes of becoming a regular at the Bernabeu.

Chelsea was thought to be leading the chase for the Spaniard after manager Antonio Conte told the club that he would like to be reunited with the striker whom he signed for Juventus three seasons ago.

Arsenal who are undergoing a major overhaul of their playing staffs this summer is also interested in signing Morata as they look likely to lose Alexis Sanchez when the transfer window opens. Despite their failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League, Wenger believes Arsenal’s reputation and the assurance of first team football would see the Spaniard choose them ahead of his other suitors.

However, it appears that Morata has decided to move to Italy where he enjoyed his two-year stint at Juventus. He is said to have accepted AC Milan’s offer, and the challenge of bringing the glory days back to the San Siro. © 2017 Frontier Theme
