Port Vale defender Nathan Smith is reported to be wanted by Arsenal and Liverpool next year, according to the media.

The Premier League duo watched the 20 year old in action at the weekend and are said to be keen on signing the young lad following a string of positive reports.

Smith is a highly talented youngster and is considered as one for the future, he has attracted a lot of attention from interested clubs, not just Arsenal and Liverpool.

Norwich City and Stoke City are also reported to be interested in Smith, though they face a uphill struggle considering the interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

A lot will depend on Smith himself, he is unlikely to get first team football straight away at Anfield or the Emirates and may decide that a move to either Stoke or Norwich is a better short term option and of course, there is the option of remaining at Port Vale.

Smith moved to Port Vale from back in June 2014, he has made 18 first team appearances for Port Vale and knocked in a couple of goals.
