Liverpool and Arsenal are set to battle for the signature of Olympique Lyon striker, Alexandre Lacazette.
The Frenchman has been one of the most consistent strikers in Europe over the past three seasons, scoring at least 20 league goals in each of those campaigns. He has already scored 35 goals in 44 matches for the club this season.
Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of his fellow countryman and came very close to signing him last season before the player opted to stay put for another season.
He has recently drawn the anger of the club’s faithful after openly stating his desire to leave the club that he has played for since he was 11.
Lyon’s president Jean-Michel Aulas has confirmed that they have given the player permission to move away from the club if his desired team meets their valuation.
Lacazette is currently valued at £50 million, but the English duo may try to negotiate the deal to a significantly lower price.
Jurgen Klopp sees Lacazette as the striker that would help fire his team to his first trophy next season.
