Man Utd and Arsenal are both interested in signing Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus, according to the latest transfer gossip.
The German international has hinted that he will be looking for one final big move before his career winds down.
The 28-year-old, who is currently sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury, has a contract that expires in 2019 when he turns 30 and does not intend to see his career out at Dortmund.
Speaking to GQ Reus said
“There are four or five international clubs who interest me. On May 31, 2019, I will turn 30. That would be my last big contract and a final opportunity to try something different.
“I have to be honest and fair and say I don’t know where I’ll end up. At the moment, I’m very happy in Dortmund and not thinking about what happens after 2019.
“But of course, the time will come and then I will sit down and calmly make a decision.”
Whether United or Arsenal would want to sign a 30 year old after a long term injury must be open to question.
Reus is clearly a good forward but he is not in the elite class and only a free transfer would be a viable option for the English duo.
Reus has played 189 times for the German giants in all competitions, scoring 89 goals since joining from Borussia Monchengladbach for €17m in 2012.
