Everton has given up trying to convince Ross Barkley to sign a new deal with them, and they look set to ask for £50 million for the transfer of his signature.
Midfielder Barkley has stalled on signing a new deal at Goodison Park since it was offered to him last December. It is believed that he wants to sign for a club competing in Europe, and may not find it hard to get such a suitor.
Arsenal and Tottenham are currently interested in the midfielder as they look to bolster their options for next season.
Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino is a firm admirer of the youngster and has tried to sign him in the past two summers.
Everton boss, Ronald Koeman has given the England midfielder an ultimatum, to either sign the “fair deal” being offered to him this week, or risk being sold.
Barkley is keeping his options open as he enters the final year of his current contract.
Despite his contract having just one year remaining, Everton still hopes to sell him for no less than £35 million, and they have set the asking price at £50 million.
