Arsenal are willing to sit down and discuss the transfer of Nacho Monreal with Athletico Bilbao.
Monreal has made at least 100 appearances for the Gunners since signing from Malaga in the summer of 2013, however, the 31 year old is coming to the end of his career and would love to finish it in Spain.
Despite signing a new contract with Arsenal in 2016, the left back has not had the best of campaigns so far, and knows of the Gunners interest in some of Europe’s best left backs.
Arsene Wenger is in the market for new full back options, with reports linking him to Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, and Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy.
With Kieran Gibbs injury prone, Monreal is Wenger’s only reliable left back, and as such he would be unlikely to let the player go without adequate replacement.
Bilbao are understood to have been targeting the Spain international for some time now, and are ready to make the transfer happen.
