Arsenal boss wants Frenchman, but board want goal scoring machine!
There has been some reports on the Daily Star website which have revealed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger and the board are in disagreement over which striker they want to bring in this summer, as the Frenchman wants QPR’s Loic Remy and the hierarchy want Vitesse Arnhem powerhouse Wilfried Bony.
Bony, dubbed the new Didier Drogba, has impressed members of the Gunners hierarchy with his stunning goal-scoring exploits this season.
The £7m-rated 24-year-old is the top scorer in Holland and hit an impressive 37 goals in 32 starts for club and country this season.
Only La Liga superstars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have more goals in a major European League than Bony’s tally of 31.
But Wenger, who’s other top striker target is Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic, is a long-term admirer of Remy. (Daily Star)
Although Remy has proved he can cut it in the Premier League, Bony has a brilliant goalscoring record and would be an absolute bargain at just £7 million.
But who would the fans want?
