Arsenal have received a boost in their quest to sign Leon Goretzka, the midfielder is certainly on his way out of Schalke after failing to agree terms on a new deal.

Goretzka, 22, has been linked with a move to Juventus and other big European sides, but it appears that he would move England if Wenger splashes the cash.

Liverpool looked like his preferred destination a few weeks back, but new information regarding his transfer published by Bild, shows that the Reds are no longer in pole position to sign the player.

According to the reports, Juventus and Arsenal are the likely destination for the player. Wenger is willing to spend heavily in this transfer window as they hope to maintain their reputation as a top four team.

The impending departure of Mesut Ozil will open up space in the Gunner’s midfield and Wenger believes that Leon Goretzka can fill in well.

But, it all depends on the willingness of Arsene Wenger to pay the £25 Million asking price.
