Arsenal is very confident of securing the future of winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after the midfielder rejected a new contract offer amidst interest from other Premier League teams.
The Ox had been in talks with the Gunners over a new deal as he enters into the final 12 months of his current deal with the Gunners. His representatives were left feeling abandoned by the Gunners when the Gunners stopped talking to them while negotiating the transfer of Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
Chamberlain has travelled with the Gunners to Australia delaying any talks of a potential move at least for now. However, Wenger remains confident that they would not have to sell him to any of their rivals or lose him for free after next season.
Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City remain interested, and the Premier League trio knows it would be difficult to get the Gunners to sell and are hopeful the Ox would tell the Gunners he wants to leave.
Meanwhile, AC Milan has joined the race to sign Giroud. The French attacker’s role is expected to be further reduced in the coming season after the Gunners sealed a club record deal for Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
