Arsenal daily news and transfer gossip round up – Monday 6th March
It was fairly obvious that Alexis Sanchez would be prominent in the gossip columns today and the media has duly delievered. Additionally the fallout from the weekend loss to Liverpool continues to reverberate.
First off lets start with Sanchez, it is being reported that French Champions Paris St-Germain are the front runners to sign Sanchez following the reported row with his Gunners team-mates and manager Arsene Wenger. (Daily Mirror)
Sanchez is not the only Arsenal superstar in the firing line, apparently Wenger was set to drop German ace Mesut Ozil for the game against Liverpool. The 28 year old was saved that indignity due to illness (Daily Telegraph)
Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is reported to be set to take over from Wenger next season, though that depends on whether the Frenchman actually leaves the Emirates. It is not a case of Wenger being replaced against his will, but rather a replacement for Wenger when he decides to call it a day. (Daily Express)
One piece of potential good news for the Gunners faithful is that the club are interested in signing Lyon’s 25-year-old forward Alexandre Lacazette. (TF1)
