Barcelona’s quiet summer is set to go on after they suffered a fresh setback in their pursuit of a transfer target.
The Catalans have been hoping to sign Arsenal full-back, Hector Bellerin.
The Spaniard who is currently representing Spain at the European Under-21 competition is Barcelona’s top transfer target, but the Gunners have told them that he is not for sale.
Another blow for Barcelona is Bellerin’s reluctance to ask for a move away from the Emirates. The Catalans had hoped that Bellerin would ask to leave which could help them ease through the transfer process for a fee in the region of £45 million.
However, Bellerin appears happy in London, and would not want to risk the ire of the club’s fans by asking for a move.
The Gunners are also desperate not to lose more of their stars, as they appear likely to lose the duo of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. While trying to secure the future of the star duo, the Gunners have made it clear they would not allow any of their other star players leave.
