Talks over replacing Arsene Wenger is ongoing between the Gunners and Juventus manager, Max Alegri. The Gunners are yet to offer Wenger a new deal, even though rumours have it that the he will be offered a new two year contract.
Arsenal board member Ivan Gazidis has told reporters that they would consider the fan’s opinion when offering a new deal to Wenger or bringing in his replacement. A large section of the club’s fan base believes it is time for Wenger to leave the Emirates.
Max Alegri has led Juventus to two consecutive Serie A titles and led them to the 2015 Champions League final. He is one of the highest rated Italian managers, and the Gunners believed he would be their own answer to Chelsea’s Antonio Conte.
However, Wenger has been allowed to carry on with identifying transfer targets and still may yet offer the Frenchman a fresh deal.
Max Alegri has not made up his mind yet, and it would be interesting to see if he would swap Serie A dominance to try and rebuild Arsenal.
