There has been a report on the Metro website which has revealed Arsenal have been warned off pursuing Aston Villa right-back Matt Lowton.
The 23-year-old right-back is reputed to be on Arsene Wenger’s summer shopping list after a hugely successful debut campaign in the top flight.
Lawton cost just £2million when Lambert snapped him up from Sheffield United last summer but is worth considerably more after wowing against the best attackers in the English elite.
But Lambert revealed 20-goal striker Christian Benteke isn’t the only Villa star not for available when he said: ‘You can’t stop people speculating. That’s football all over the world. But he’s our player.’ (The Metro)
Lowton is seen as Bacary Sagna’s replacement and would love a move to the Emirates. But many Gunners fans will be wondering if he is the right kind of quality to add to the back-line, if Villa can’t keep hold of him.
