Arsenal have confirmed that they are close to agreeing new deals for some of their players. Arsenal have a lot of players whose deals are set to expire within the next two seasons, and the Gunners, who are planning to bring in new quality players are set to also keep some of their best home grown players.
Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere, and Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain all have their current contracts expiring soon. Gibbs and Chamberlain have their contracts expiring next summer, while jack Wilshere’s contract is set to expire when this season ends.
Arsene Wenger has now indicated that the club has prepared fresh deals for the trio and he expects them to sign in the next couple of weeks.
Wenger is still struggling to get Mesut ozil and Alexis Sanchez to sign new deals, but he is optimistic that the duo will extend their stay in North London.
It is left to be seen if Wenger wants to tie these players down because they feature in his first team plan for next season or if he is only trying to stop them from joining a rival for a cheap price.
