Arsenal’s summer clear out of their unwanted players will soon begin, and England international Kieran Gibbs looks like the first player who would leave the Emirates.
The left back has fallen down the pecking order at the North London side, and with one year left on his current deal, Arsenal is ready to cash in on him.
According to the media, Watford is currently leading the race for his signature. Per the source, Marcos Silva is determined to sign Gibbs as he would bring the much-needed experience to his team.
Gibbs, 27 is currently on a £60,000 per week wage at Arsenal and could be forced to lower his current earnings if he wants to secure first team football.
Gibbs wants to play in next year’s World Cup and knows that only a superb 2017/2018 season would see him get a chance to impress.
Brighton and Stoke City are also interested in signing Gibbs but Arsenal’s asking price could be a major turnoff for these clubs.
The Gunners want £15 million for their academy graduate, a figure that does not reflect his current output level, having started just eight games last season.
