When agents release statements about their clients it is generally a good sign of what is to come and that certainly applies to Manchester United ace Anthony Martial.
United broke the world record for a teenager when they splashed out an initial £36million rising to up to £58m and to some degree he has been a success, however, he is not considered an automatic first choice under Jose Mourinho and it is reported that their relationship is not the best.
Now, the players representative Philippe Lamboley has refused to guarantee that the French international will be at Old Trafford next season.
Speaking to Il Bianconero: Lamboley said
“Will [Martial] stay in Manchester in the summer? At the moment, I cannot say anything else about it.”
“His goal is to win the FA Cup and to cement with Manchester United the second place in the Premier League.”
This is good news for Arsenal who have previously been linked with a move for the forward.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is an admirer of Martial and tried to sign him before United swooped in and they even tried to get the youngster included in the swap deal for Alexis Sanchez.
A lot can happen between now and the end of the season but as things stand right now Wenger and Arsenal must feel confident that they can sign a player that they thought had slipped their grasp permanently.
