Arsenal hope to kick start their summer spending spree by sealing a deal for AS Monaco midfielder, Thomas Lemar. The French man has been a sensation this season and his form has helped Monaco top the French league as well as reach the Champions League semifinals.
The Gunners have identified a number of players that they hope to add to their team this summer as they plan to mount a serious title challenge next season.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the future of Arsene Wenger, he seems to have been given the go ahead to identify possible transfer targets for the Club.
Arsenal are also interested in signing a new centre back and striker, with moves for Southampton’s Virgil Van Dijk and Olympique Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette more likely.
Van Dijk hasn’t played for the Saints since January, but his early season form has ensured that clubs have maintained their interest in him. The Gunner would face serious challenge from Chelsea and Liverpool in their bid to sign the Dutch man.
Alexandre Lacazette is a more realistic target for the Gunners. They have been interested in signing the striker for a long time now, and hope to finally seal the deal this summer. The striker has admitted this could be his last season in France, but he would most likely join a team competing in the Champions League.
