Arsenal have made the signing of PSG’s midfielder Adrien Rabiot a top priority. The Gunners are expecting Germany international Mesut Ozil to move this summer and have identified Rabiot as a capable replacement.
Rabiot has admitted that he would consider offers from big clubs, and Arsenal believe they are a big enough club for the midfielder who wants regular first team football.
Arsenal have been tracking him all through the season, and according to reports from France they are now ready to step up their interest and make a bid for him.
Arsenal believe Rabiot, who is just 21, has the qualities to replace Ozil, and with age on his side, he offers them a long term solution to their attacking midfield problem.
Wenger’s future will play a key role in the player’s transfer with other reports linking Chelsea and Manchester City to the midfielder as well.
Rabiot has been involved in 21 Ligue 1 games for the Paris club, scoring two goals. PSG are said to be unwilling to let the player go, and would most likely play hard ball with Arsenal.
But if Ozil leaves, Arsenal would have no choice than to make a huge effort to sign the player.
