Arsenal has suffered a major blow in their quest to land out-of-favour Barcelona midfielder, Arda Turan.
The Turkey international has not had the best start to his Barcelona career and faced much criticism from the fans and the media over his poor performance in his first full season with the club.
Turan has been on the radar of Arsene Wenger since his Atletico Madrid days, and he still believes he can bring the best out of the attacking midfielder.
The Gunners were hoping that new Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde would declare him surplus to requirements, paving the way for them to make an official bid for him. But that is not the case, as it appears that Valverde is planning to give everybody an equal opportunity to impress him this season.
Speaking about his client’s future, Turan’s agent poured more cold water onto the rumours that Turan would leave the Camp Nou this summer. He reminded reporters that Turan still had three years left to run on his current deal with the Catalans, and they are only thinking about honouring his contract.
