Arsenal have been dealt an early blow in their bid to sign top talents this season. The Gunners are planning to sign some top players this summer as they restructure their playing squad.
They want to sign Napoli star Lorenzo Insigne as part of a group of top players that will call the Emirates Stadium their home next season, but may not achieve that objective anymore.
Some weeks back, it looked as though Napoli would cash in on the player as contract negotiations with his representatives had stalled. But fresh reports in Italy claim they have agreed a new deal with the player and it will be announced in the next few days.
The player is in line to get a huge hike in his weekly salary but his image rights will be retained by Napoli.
The Gunners will now look at other alternatives, like Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe and Insigne’s team mate Dries Mertens.
However, the uncertainty surrounding Wenger’s future coupled with the fact that the Gunners might fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, could make it difficult for them to attract top talents.
