It has been revealed on the Sky Sports website that Arsenal are in a battle with Monaco to land the services of highly-rated Newcastle playmaker Yoann Cabaye.
Along with free agent Eric Abidal, the 27-year-old is on the radar of the newly-promoted Principality club.
“Yohan Cabaye? He is an exciting player,” Monaco CEO Vadim Vasilyev told L’Equipe.
“And Abidal is a strong player. If he could come back to Le Championnat everyone would be delighted.” (Sky Sports)
Premier League Champions Manchester United are also in the race, but the Gunners and Monaco are most keen so it will be interesting to see just how this all develops in the coming months.
