The future of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is unclear, but that has not stopped him from planning for a big summer recruitment.
Wenger is positive that he would be offered a new contract at the Emirates. With that in mind the Frenchman has been linked to a number of targets, but it is believed that he wants to add more South American flair to his team. He already has Alexis Sanchez, Gabriel and David Ospina on his books.
According to reports, he has been linked to the following South American players: Alex Sandro of Juventus, Jeison Murillo of Inter Milan, Lautaro Martinez a striker for Racing Club, left winger David Laxalt of Genoa, Samir of Udinese, and Brazilian prodigy, Vinicius Junior.
Wenger is impressed by the contributions of his current group of South Americans and believes getting more of them would add more flair to his attack and steel to his defence.
Arsenals 3-0 win over West Ham last night may have bought him some time at the Emirates, but he would be more assured of a new deal if he keeps winning and ends the season inside the top four.
