Arsenal has joined the race for the signature of Nice midfielder, Jean Michael Seri.
The Ivorian shone for Nice last season as they impressed in the French league and clinched a place in the Champions League. Although Mario Balotelli was the most popular player in the team, Seri also made a name for himself, scoring seven times while providing nine assists for his other teammates.
The Ivorian’s performance has made several teamS show interest in him, with AS Roma making an official enquiry for him last week. However, the Italians were shocked to learn that they would have to pay his £35 million release clause before he would leave, and they have subsequently abandoned their chase for his signature.
Arsene Wenger is said to be willing to bring the Ivorian to the Emirates, but he is not ready to sit on the substitutes bench at any club.
According to Seri, he would only join a team if he is guaranteed first-team action. The Ivorian is keen on keeping the momentum after making such incredible progress this season.
Arsene Wenger can only guarantee him first team action if one of his attacking midfielders leaves, with Mesut Ozil on the brink.
