Arsenal lining up £17 million swoop on Premier League rivals

There has been some reports which have claimed Arsenal are weighing up an offer for Manchester United playmaker Shinji Kagawa.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger admitted he tried to sign the Japanese playmaker when he at Borussia Dortmund, though a move never materialised as he moved from the Germans to United in 2012.

However, with Kagawa struggling to establish himself at Old Trafford and seemingly on his way out, Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in snapping him up this summer, according to the SportsDirectNews website.

The Gunners are anxious to add creative competition for inconsistent Germany star Mesut Ozil, who had a mixed first season in the Premier League last term.
