Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham hopes of signing Bordeaux star Malcom have received a huge boost following the latest comments attributed to the youngster.
Arsenal had been seen as favourites to sign the Brazilian but the Gunners are set to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang which leaves Tottenham and Liverpool as the new front-runners.
Liverpool fancy Malcom as a good replacement for the departed Philippe Coutinho and they have a huge transfer kitty, however, there is little movement from them at this stage, which may well leave the door open for Spurs.
Malcom spoke to the media after Bordeaux’s 1-0 win over Nantes last night and gave an update on any potential transfer.
“I do not know if I will be staying or leaving,” Malcom said.
“I leave that to my agents, to the club. If I leave that is great, I thank the club for everything.
“That is life. These are choices. There you go. Now we will see.
“If I have to stay, I will stay. If I am to leave, then I will leave. So long as I am here, I will do my work.
“Is England a dream? Yes it is a dream, it is a dream for all players and I am no different.
“As I said, I am here, I must think about working and nothing else. I must not think about leaving now.”
There you have it, it is a dream to play in England and while that is not the biggest surprise to come from a player subjected to transfer rumours, it is significant considering the timing.
The ball is now in Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham’s court.
