Arsenal may finally get one of their three contract rebels to sign a new deal with them.
The Gunners have been trying to get Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to sign extensions to their current contract, with the players having just one year left on their current deals.
They have all rejected the Gunners’ offer of a new contract so far, however, it appears Mesut Ozil is happy to remain a Gunner and would reduce his demand to stay at the Emirates Stadium beyond this season. The German has been demanding £350,000 per week, a sum the Gunners’ salary scale is not yet set up to meet.
According to sources at the Emirates Ozil is happy at the Gunners’ transfer business so far and he is ready to sign on for £280,000 per week. His representatives have been trying to conclude the negotiations and get everything ready for him to sign when he returns from preseason.
The Gunners would hope that Ozil’s decision will influence Sanchez and Chamberlain to sign new deals also.
