Arsenal has made Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette their primary target this summer, according to the latest transfer rumours.
Apparently, Arsene Wenger is determined to sign the 26-year old after failing to sign the player last year.
Lacazette is a prolific goal scorer having scored 37 goals in 45 games for his club last year with 28 of them coming in Ligue 1.
Spanish giants, Atletico Madrid had been favourites to sign the French International, however, since the transfer embargo placed on Atletico they have dropped out of the running.
Lacazette has made it clear that he wants to leave Lyon for a new challenge and even though Arsenal are not in the Champions League next season it is not thought to be too much of an obstacle.
No fee has been mentioned, however, it will certainly be a lot more than the 35 million pounds that the Gunners offered last year.
Lacazette would be a fantastic purchase for the North London outfit and would certainly enhance their title credentials but there is still a long way to go before this particular deal is done and dusted.
