Arsenal vice-captain Per Mertesacker has confirmed he has held talks with Sami Khedira about a possible move to the Emirates.
Khedira has been strongly linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season, when his contract with Real Madrid expires.
And there has even been talk that the Gunners have already agreed some kind of deal to bring him to London.
Now Mertesacker has revealed that he’s personally spoken to the defensive midfielder to convince him to make the transfer to Arsenal.
As quoted on the Metro website, he said: “I’m up for more quality Germans joining the club.
“Ozil and I spoke to Khedira a few times about joining Arsenal. His contract is up next summer.”
