Arsenal manager denies claim he is sending message to want-away star

With his departure from Arsenal only a few months away, many onlookers are claiming Arsene Wenger is playing Alexis Sanchez in cup competitions like the Carabao Cup as well as the Europa League to make a statement to the Chilean that he is not needed very much.

However, Arsene Wenger has denied such claims insisting that he is only helping the South American to get back his match fitness.

Sanchez is in the final year of his current deal with the Gunners and was expected to leave them this summer, but a final day transfer to Manchester City collapsed after the Gunners failed to find a replacement.

Sanchez was injured at the beginning of the season but he has since gotten back to fitness and even played for the Chilean National team at the last round of qualifiers.

Manchester City is expected to come for his signature again during the winter transfer window, with Real Madrid also interested the Gunners are still hopeful they can at least get a small transfer fee from his sale.

The Frenchman had earlier told reporters that the club would sacrifice the Chilean and spend around £70 million to replace him when he leaves. © 2017 Frontier Theme
