Arsenal are reported to be interested in signing Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak, but will not pay anywhere near the outrageous valuation placed on the player by the Spanish giants.
Atletico have placed a €100 million valuation on the Slovenian international, a figure that is clearly designed to thwart any club from making an official offer.
Oblak is regarded as one of the best keepers around, however, he is not worth €100 million or anything close to that, though that has not stopped a whole host of clubs from keeping an eye on him.
It is being reported that Arsenal have actually made enquiries, but they have been rebuffed every single time.
Obviously a lot depends on the player himself and there are rumours that Oblak will consider his position come the end of the season, but unless Atletico lower the valuation he is going nowhere.
Arsenal will have to look elsewhere if they want to sign a top class long term replacement for Petr Cech, unless they stun the world of football and agree to pay the €100 Million asking price, which is simply not going to happen.
