It has been rumoured that Arsenal have been given the opportunity to sign Napoli’s out-of-favour striker Eduardo Vargas during this month’s transfer window, as boss Arsene Wenger looks to add some much needed fir-power to his squad.
The 23-year-old Chile international is surplus to requirements and has been in talks over a move to Sao Paulo in Brazil.
Vargas, once dubbed the new Alexis Sanchez, has only been in Naples for a year having moved there ahead of Chelsea from Universidad de Chile for a fee of £11.5million.
The highlight of his disappointing spell in Serie A came in the Europa League when he scored three times in the 4-0 win over AIK Fotboll. (Daily Mail)
The gifted little forward has failed to make much impact over the last few months due to the brilliant Edinson Cavani, but he is still a talented lad and would add something to the Gunners set-up if they took up the chance to sign him on a short-term basis.
