Schalke general manager Horst Heldt has admitted he is unsure whether Arsenal target Benedikt Howedes will stay at the Veltins-Arena at the end of the current campaign.
Schalke captain Howedes has continuously been linked with a move to England in recent months with Arsenal thought to be in the race for his signature.
Heldt told kicker-Sportmagazin: “We are always in touch with Bene (Benedikt Höwedes) and his management.
“Actually we are getting the impression he has not made a decision in principle regarding a departure from our club. Much the opposite, I feel he is willing to staying on with Schalke.”
