Arsenal Full back, Kieran Gibbs is close to joining Premier League side Watford after West Bromwich Albion dropped out of the race for his signature.
The 27 years old was once the most sought after left back in the Premier League, but injuries and poor form have seen him fail to reach his potential. He played second fiddle to Nacho Monreal last season, and with the arrival of Sead Kolasinac, he is expected to make fewer appearances, and the Gunners have told him he can leave.
Watford boss, Marcos Silva has added only Nathaniel Chalobah to his team so far and wants more English players after having a look at his current options in the preseason.
Gibbs was attracting the interest of several middle to low table Premier League clubs this summer, but Watford and West Brom were the most serious, but the Baggies have dropped out, leaving the Hornets to complete the deal.
In another Arsenal related development, Arsenal and Tottenham are set to battle it out for the signature of young Caen attacker, Yann Karamoh. The 19-year-old is valued at £9 million and also has interest from the Italian Serie A.
