Arsenal striker, Lucas Perez is attracting the interest of several European teams this summer. The Spaniard has struggled for game time this season despite impressing in his cameo appearances for the Gunners.
He has started just two league games this season after joining the Gunners from Deportivo La Coruna last summer. Arsene Wenger prefers other strikers or to use Alexis Sanchez as a centre forward. With Arsenal planning a major overhaul this summer, and continually being linked with strikers like Alexandre Lacazette, it is unlikely that Perez’s situation will improve next season.
The 28 year old wants to play for Spain in next summer’s FIFA World cup and knows he needs to be playing regularly for him to be considered for selection.
The striker’s former club Deportivo were linked with a move to re-sign him last month on a season long loan deal for next season.
The Gunners have not commented on the player’s future, however they will most likely favour a permanent switch, should they sign a new striker.
Catalan side, Espanyol are the latest team linked with a move for the player. According to Spanish sources, the club has been monitoring the player’s situation and should they get any encouragement, they would swoop for him.
